Wordless Wednesday

Bryan's dad, Doug and his girlfriend Aline, are coming into town tonight, we are all SO excited to see them! He lives in Colorado right now and is in the process of moving back up here to Washington soon!
[Bryan and Doug at our wedding, I think they look SO much alike!]

How Do YOU Measure a Year?

I've been thinking a lot about pictures lately. I got these snappy new applications and I'm in love. It's gotten me even more in touch with my inner photographer [if that's possible]

So, call me crazy, but I'm starting another endeavor.

365 Days of photos.

Some of you may not be interested, some might, but really, I'm doing this for me :) Just to make myself smile.

I will be striving to take one picture a day for a year. Next November I'd like to look back at my journal[blog] and photos.

Here goes nothing folks! Thanks for your support and understanding :)

The beginning starts here <3

TAG - You're it! :)

Good morning! Last night I saw that I was tagged in one of Lindsi's posts from The Hancocks blog, she's a sweet girl with real southern charm! Love her!
Alright, here goes nothing!

Lindsi: "How 'bout a good 'ol game of MASH?! Remember that one?
Hehe--list your ideal MASH answers."

1) HUSBAND
If the question is who is my ideal husband, you mean besides my prince charming?! :)

2) CITY
My ideal city to live in would be somewhere in northern California. I grew up in the Sacramento area until I was 12, and I miss that California sunshine! However, I could NEVER live anywhere without the entire family, I'm a little co-dependent on them.. And Washington has become my home.

3)  YOUR JOB
I have two!
1. Cook/Chef/Pastry master - all of the above? That would be just fabulous, thanks! :)
2. Photographer - I absolutely love taking photos [if you haven't noticed by now] I wish I had even just a little bit of professional training. I love capturing those moments that words just can't describe.
[A picture I took looking down the walkway by our house]

4) HUSBAND'S JOB
My husband - let me tell you - is an AMAZING artist. Don't let him tell you otherwise. I wish that he was able to go to school and pursue his artistic ability further... but it's just not in our financial cards at the moment. Never the less, I think he's awesome. It would be ideal if he worked as a graphic designer for someone like Pixar! PS Toy Story 3 comes out today! :)

5) YOUR CAR
I just want a mommy car :)

6) HUSBAND'S CAR
Oh, don't even get HIM started!
He wants a BMW M3, Range Rover, 1970 Chevy Chevelle... You name it, he probably has thought about it. He <3's cars like I <3 Christmas!
[Our cars now :)]

 7) NUMBER OF CHILDREN
Originally I wanted a lot, so I could have a huge family with lots of babies and grandbabies at holiday gatherings, but with a little more careful consideration, we landed on two. Hahaha

8) Random Question: Who is your favorite Golden Girl?
DUH! Betty White! :) And speaking of Golden girls, look at this picture a friend of mine put on her facebook a while back, I HAD to save it!

Now I think we've come to the part in the program where I get to tag YOU and ask you some of my own questions! :)!

1. What is your ALL time favorite song and why? None of this "Well I like everything." If you had to pick one, which would it be?

2. What's was the most memorable part of your wedding day and or first date if you aren't married yet ;)

3. What do you want to be when you grow up?

4. Why do you blog?

5. What is your favorite attribute about yourself and why?

6. What's on your Christmas list this year?

7. What is your "signature drink"? It could be homemade, your daily Starbucks drink, or what you always order when you go out. If it is homemade, will you include the recipe? :)
OK ladies, GO! I understand if you don't have time, it's just for fun :) I'd just like to get to know you all better! :)

Morning Sounds

It's 6:20am. Ok that's a lie, it's 6:37am because I've hit the snooze button at least once.
I'm still cuddled under my down comforter and my eyes are still soooo sleepy, I know it's going to be harder than anything else I've ever done in my life to open them!

So instead I just listen to the morning sounds of my home.

I hear the other slumbering bear curled up in his own down comforter next to me turn off his alarm and stumble out of bed. My husband likes to be wrapped up like a mummy when he sleeps, thus we discovered we needed two comforters.

I hear the folding doors to the laundry nook and the squeaky dryer door open for Bryan to retrieve his work jeans that I washed the night before.

I hear Harley nibbling on his kitty food. Actually most of the time I hear him batting it around the bathroom floor in a heated game of "chase the cat food".

I hear our neighbors that share our the wall to our bedroom, there is a gentlemen that makes these awful grunting noises every single morning... I can only assume he's...
working out?

I hear the cars going by on the wet pavement outside the bedroom window, it's November in the pacific north west, it's bound to always be wet outside.

I hear the water running for Bryan to brush his teeth. He likes to have fresh breath before he kisses me goodbye in the morning. And he still loves me even though I haven't had a chance to yet, monster breath and all.

I hear the front door lock as he leaves to work another hard day, sometimes in the pacific north west rain I was talking about. When we first moved out together he told me he was, "locking me in safe" and he still does it every day he leaves before me. I do feel safe.

And then I hear my alarm dinging again, reminding me, "Amanda, it's really time to wake up now, I mean it this time".

I can't help but smile at these sounds I hear almost every morning, it's comforting, it makes me feel content. And I can't help but to think of how these morning sounds will change in the next couple of years...But for now, I'll just listen :)

What are your favorite morning sounds?

[Harley kitty sleeping, the only times he's quiet]

Happy Halloweekend!

I know it's November now, but I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween weekend! I know we did! :)
Here are some of the highlights:
[Saturday night was the wedding reception for our cousins, who had a destination wedding back in August, it was a "Spooktacular" reception]
The Bride and Groom aka Mario and Princess Peach [insert Super Mario Brother's theme music here - do do do do do do do]
Bryan and me aka scary zombie and Snookie [my other costume fell through so this was the obvious replacement costume, it was fun though]
He's always gotta be the scary one!
Some of my favorite costumes [James the photographer aka Alan from "The Hangover"]
The bride's dad and his girlfriend aka Paula Dean and Ron White
Our best friend Steven and his girlfriend aka a penguin and banana [who knew the two could fall in love?! :)]

Sunday was spent with family, including my sister who had the pleasure of taking home the "electronic baby" for her Family and Consumer Science class. Hanna said, "Are you sure you want to be a mom? This is tough stuff!" I just giggled. "Yes Hanna, I'm most definitely positive."

Sunday evening was frightfully fun! Bryan's family gets together every year on Halloween and carries on a tradition of making a "Witch's Brew" (yummy stew) like his Grandma did every year. After our bellies were full and happy, it was time to take Sophia Trick or Treating!
 "Scary faces!"
Christine and Kim [my sister and mother in law] Love them both!
And last but certainly not least, our little "Strawberry Shortcake"! :) She just melts all of our hearts! I mean, how could she not?!

Our "Halloweekend" went by entirely too quick but was fabulous! I hope you all had a safe and eventful weekend also! What did you and your family dress up as?
