Thankful Thursday - Ode to Harley

Today I'm thankful for my little [almost 12 pound] fur ball.
Let me preface this by saying, I'm kind of crazy about my cat...
But I'm NOT a crazy cat lady....
I think...

Dear Harley,
It's been almost a year since you walked in and surprised me with a big blue bow around your neck. I wanted you for so long even before I met you, and Bryan knew it. He drove far and wide to find you and bring you home to me, I couldn't have been more excited. From the very beginning you've been a cuddle bug. You love curling right up next to me or Bry and staying there until one of us gets up.
You quickly adjusted to our apartment and loved exploring and playing on/through/under everything. I swear you were a dog in another life - you loved baths, you 'begged' for human food, you perk your ears up when someone comes to the door or when you hear our keys jingle. You're our little guard kitty.
You're not even one years old yet and you are already a huge mancat, what happened to the baby kitten that fit into my hand? You are fluffy and full of love still. You nip at our hands when we touch your belly, but we can't help it, we love your big belly! I hope you love our new home as much as we do, there's so many more places for you to explore!
Thank you for being the best cat I could've ever wished for. Even though you drive us up-the-wall crazy sometimes, you sit by us when we're sick, cuddle us when we're cold, and sleep right between us some nights. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're kinda spoiled... but until we have real babies [not fur ones]
I'm ok with that :)

Do you love your fur babies? Do you take pictures of them? I feel a little crazy but I love my little guy :)

Thankful Thursday

 32. Harley - If you didn't think I was a crazy cat lady already, this may be the deciding factor. My cat was looking extra fluffy last night and kept hanging over the back of the stool like this, and was being totally cute so I decided he needed a photo shoot, I may be biased, but he's pretty stinkin cute. Until I have babies of my own, be prepared to see photos of him :)

"No Edward, you do it like this!"
 "Please Mom, no more pictures"

33. Having cable again - Listen, we have been without cable or any kind of television for that matter, for two and a half years. There was a great deal on cable since we already receive our internet through DirectTV, so we decided to go ahead and do it. Can I just tell you how much I've TOTALLY missed the Food Network?! I'm not kidding, Bryan may come home someday soon and see me pretending to have my own cooking show in the kitchen. Just sayin... :)

34. The thought of sugar cookies - I had a MAJOR sugar cookie fail last night. I was beating the dough in one of my older stock pots because it's the deepest bowl shaped thing I have, and after it had chilled in the fridge, I went to pull it out and there were little black specks in the dough from when the beaters were hitting the bottom of the pot. I was sooo bummed, it was a double batch too! However, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again :) Right? Right.

35. My sister Hanna - This photo just makes me smile. Hanna came to our house to witness said sugar cookie fail, but despite the chaos in the kitchen, all she wanted to do was show Bryan and I her new favorite song, it's called "On the Brightside" by Never Shout Never. I love her so much, and love that she has so much passion for the things in her life, including music. But the look on Bryan's face is priceless... LOL

36. The Sing Off - I'm not sure if most of you are aware of my love for acapella music. I wrote about it yesterday and said it brings tears to my eyes because it truly does. I wish I had a fraction of the talent those groups do on this show. But our favorite group of the season thus far is Committed :) Seriously, sends chills down your spine...

What are you thankful for this week my friends? :)

Best friends & babies

This weekend was everything I'd hoped it would be and MORE - believe it or not!

Friday evening Kelsy and I started our night out right-cheap Riesling, frozen Totino's pizza, watching Grey's on Hulu and some knitting of course :)
-Best friends established 2005-

-You can kind of see Christina Yang's curly mane on my Mac :)-

Saturday morning we woke up and ventured down the hill to Kent Station, the plan was to meet for coffee, take pictures with Santa, watch the parade, and the go to the little animal to pick out a new kitten for Christine and Sophia since they just moved out into their own apartment...We met for coffee, and went straight for the baby kitties.
Oh.my.gosh.
I can't even explain how cute all these kittens were, Sophia was in Heaven.
And since she has the best mom EVER, she got to adopt TWO kittens!
Please meet: Seraphina (white kitty) & Wolfy (tabby kitty)
And at the last minute, Kelsy's heart was bursting to adopt this little girl, she named her Willie (After The Goonies and One eyed Willy) She was born with a bulging eye and had to have it removed.

With three new kittens in tow we headed home! Pet adoption is AWESOME!
Saturday evening Christine headed off to hear second job, and Kelsy and I headed to the baby shower for Ksavera and baby Kellen. So if anyone is keeping count, we were leaving Bryan at home with the three kittens and a three year old... I'm so glad we found him in one piece.
The shower was wonderful, great friends, good food, and all of the wonderful gifts they received were SO cute! AH! It was not a good idea for a woman is battling mild baby fever to be around kittens and baby clothes in the same day! None the less, I'm so happy for Ksavera and her husband Jason, I can't wait for Kellen to be here!
-Cutest preggo lady ever! I said she needs a shirt to wear to the hospital that says "I make pregnancy look good!" LOL-
-I <3 her and her beautiful belly with a growing baby inside :)-

All in all this weekend was fabulous!
It did make me reminisce and miss how Harley used to be the cutest kitten ever, so I thought it only appropriate since I was oogling over other kittens all weekend that I include some pictures of my handsome boy as well :)
-What a mancat...Sigh... the days of kittens are over for me... -

-Definitely not my greatest photo, but I love that he's cuddling with my leg :) Thanks for capturing that, Kels-

GREAT weekend :) I hope your weekends were just as fantabulous!
Bring it on Monday!
