Thankful Thursday

61. Love - I have to say, I'm thankful for love. The mushy kind, the family kind, and the kind for yourself. But since it's February, national LOVE month, I'll be thankful for the mushy kind if that's OK with ya'll.

62. Antibiotics - Love em or hate em, they helped me get through this last week. I've had fevers, coughing attacks and body aches up the ying yang and would've been in WAY more agony than I was without those things.

63. My baby sister - This gorgeous young woman is growing up right in front of me and it's freaking me out!
What happened to my little crazy red haired sister who loved Dragon Tales and cheerios? Obviously those things when out the door when puberty hit, but dang... I miss those little red ringlets! LOL I love you Hanner, you are becoming a beautiful lady. And with my purse, your new lanyard, and a coffee mug, you look 10 years older. Stoooop it!

64. American Idol & dreams coming true - SO neat, I went to school with one of the kids that's made it to the top 40 (or so I've read on gossip sites) his name is Stefano Langone watch for this guys' name in lights, he gives you goosebumps! I wasn't best friends with him or anything but I had a couple classes with him, he has a really good heart and a POWERFUL voice that will knock your socks off! Go Stefano! :)

65. Firsts - the first dinner in our new home - mac&cheese and pigsinablanket, mmmmm!

What are my friends thankful for today?
I'd love to hear... see... whatever :)

Connection

Do you have that one road/freeway/bridge that connects your life?

You know what I'm talking about, the one you find yourself on weekly or even daily? The one that you could drive with your eyes closed? Ok maybe not that well, but it's the one you spend your 'life' on. The one you know exactly how many minutes it's going to take you to get to and from where you need to go. The one you know exactly when to switch lanes to avoid getting stuck behind the traffic line. The one that is comforting.

I have one. I know it well. When I was making the drive from the old apartment to the new house on Sunday, I couldn't help but think, this is the road that connects my life. It connects my past to my present. It connects us to both our families and jobs. It connected us to each other when I was going to college and when Bryan lived with his dad in high school. It's the road we'll probably be driving on for the rest of our life.

Do you ever take a minute on that road to just breathe and give thanks? Without that road I would be lost. Literally, I can't navigate back roads very well lol Maybe I'm getting a little deep here for  a Wednesday morning, it's just been on my heart since the move. It's funny the little things we depend on every day.

So, thank you little freeway for getting me where I need to go, knowing me so well, and always steering me in the right direction. I'll see you later ;)

Drooling over these...

Since we've moved in I have all these great and cute decorating ideas in my head, I can't help feeling like Varuca Salt, in my head I'm singing,
"Don't care how, I want it now"

These:

This: (or I might just make something like it)

Pretty much anything from Here: (specifically this)

& last but not least, These babies, not from Etsy but still beautiful. WANT them.

But, I'm not rich...I'll have to accumulate pretties like this over time.
I guess I'm ok with that, I'll have to quiet my inner Varuca until then.

Sigh...

Today's Letters Inspired Tuesday

Today's Letters: Dear Bryan J. cleaning out our apartment made me inevitably clean out our Igloo coolers from 2009, which in turn made me think of going camping this summer. We missed camping last summer since we were a little busy gettin' hitched and all, but this summer will be a different story. Can't wait to smell like bug spray, roast hot dogs, and play in the sun with you. Dear Law & Order: SVU, most people stick with The Price is Right, not me. Thank you for filling my sick days on the couch with suspenseful crime stories and super attractive detectives. Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay hit the genetic jackpot in the looks department! Dear Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, this year, for the first time ever, I WILL enjoy your gloriousness, and take endless pictures in your fields of beautiful fragrant tulips. Dear husband, you looked like a knight in shining armor when you came waltzing through the door with gourmet(Safeway)chicken noodle soup, saltines and popsicles-you took good care of me this time I was sick, I'll return the favor someday. Until then, the only song that seemed appropriate was this one.

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
Oh all I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you
♥

What does your mister do for you when you're sickly? Any special requests you have for him when he visits the store?
I gotta have Progresso chicken noodle soup and crackers - only thing I can eat when I don't feel good.

I'll be announcing the winner in my next post! Stay tuned :)
