Katy Perry says & Realization

I have a weird tendency to relate song lyrics to my own life. And it's not any different with this one.  I don't know about you, but I love Katy Perry, I think she's beautiful, I think her husband is hilarious, and I love her music!

I was watching Glee on Tuesday night (of course) and realized something.
I sing this song in the shower, hum it under my breath at work, and I always think of Bryan; one because I thought I was singing, "Baby you're a firework" to him, and two because 4th of July is his favorite holiday, double cute points.
This song that's been stuck in my head for the past - however long - is not about singing to a loved one telling them they're a firework, it's about loving yourself and knowing that

YOU are not a waste of space.
YOU gotta ignite the light and let it shine.
YOU are an original and cannot be replaced.
YOU are the firework-let your colors burst

Just a little realization I wanted to share - all too often we forget it.

Even if you don't like KP, I hope you can appreciate the message in this song :)

Happy day to you my lovies ♥

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting throught the wind
Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in

Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you
Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gunna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe-awe-awe"

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what your worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on slet your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe-awe-awe

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon

Eye'm thinkin...

I want to get eyelash extensions put back on...
I don't know if I've expressed my insecurity about my short, blonde, stubby eyelashes before? Well, now you know. It's awful. I know it's something really small to care about, but I'm a girl. I love mascara, love sparkly eye shadow, and liquid eyeliner. All I'm missing are those long lashes.

Sigh...

I got them put on before the wedding and I ABSOLUTELY loved them. However, the initial fee is $115 and every 'fill' [every 4 weeks or so] is about $55...
is it worth it?

[Before ps sorry for the creepy eye pictures]

[After]

Holy dark, long, lucious lashes! This is WITHOUT mascara ladies!

Double sigh....

Would you pay to have one of your insecurities go away?

We'll see...

Nook of goodness and love

While reading my regular blog roll last week, I came across this one - from one of my new favorite bloggers- seriously if you haven't checked her out yet, you're missing out!

Anywhoo, it got me thinking about my 'nook of love'.

Do you have that one spot in your house/couch/bed that you can just melt into after a really long day? That one spot that's always smushed in just the right position? That one fluffy blanket that always provides just the right amount of warmth and cuddlieness?

I do, it's the corner seat in our sectional and it's simply divine. It's pretty much my favorite spot in the house right now since it's freezing-your-buns-off cold a lot of the time. If you don't feel immediately comfortable, don't worry, you will soon. Add said fluffy brown blanket, an extra fluffy kitty and you've got yourself a pretty nice little set up.

[You've gotta be careful or it will eat you right up!]

Do you have a favorite 'nook of love'? Or just a favorite spot in your house? I'd love to hear about it, or even better see it! :)

Today's Letters Inspired Tuesday

Today's Letters: Dear love muffin, this weekend I found out that Jersey Shore is one of your guilty pleasures. You said that it's pretty annoying most of the time, but also hilarious. Kind of excited to watch trashy TV with you. Dear Coldstone Creamery, you are wonderful in all your frozen creamy goodness, I just wish I would have taken lactaid before I devoured you. I guess I'll learn my lesson someday, until then, thanks for providing a yummy treat for me and the hubs :) Dear favorite Superbowl commercial, I laughed so hard I cried at this one, thank you Volkswagen. Dear father of my future littles, can I just say that I absolutely love our new house and couldn't be more happy living in it with you, than I am right now. Cheers to this coming summer, fishing off the dock, bonfires in the fire pit, and waking up to the sound of the water. Uh-mazing Craigslist hunting on your part my dear.

What was YOUR favorite Superbowl commercial?

Lady Antebellum says...

"I run from hate, I run from prejudice
I run from pessimists
, but I run too lateI run my life or is it running me, run from my past
I run too fast or too slow it seems

When lies become the truth
That's when I run to you
This world keeps spinning faster
Into a new disaster so I run to you, I run to you babyWhen it all starts coming undone
Baby, you're the only one I run to, I run to you

We run on fumes, your life and mine
Like the sands of time slippin' right on through
And our love's the only truth
That's why I run to you"

Hope you all are having a happy afternoon...
